Open letter to NNA about dealer markups
The GT-R is very unique in the fact that it has garnered an almost cult following here in the United states over the past few decades even with most Americans only experiencing the car 2nd hand. Finally after a long wait these hardcore Nissan loyalist are ready to welcome the GT-R to the United States. This first year is very crucial to the GT-Rs integration into the US Sports/Supercar market . The North American GT-R Owners Club is excited about promoting a long term relationship between GT-R owners and Nissan North America . With that said we feel the current issue with Dealer Mark ups is detrimental to the GT-R enthusiasts community as well as its image here in the US in this first year of introduction. We feel the MSRP offers an absolute unmatched value when it comes to all around performance and is but one of the GT-R’s unparalleled strong points. Not only is Dealer Mark Up very counterproductive to this , it also creates a negative atmosphere and relationship between GT-R customers and their respective Nissan dealerships. We feel the the GT-R purchasing experience should be on par with the ownership and to have the feeling that Nissan Dealerships are “holding the cars ransom” for the highest profit for the initial buyers who represent the very core of your target audience for the GT-R is very disheartening.
On behalf of all of NAGTROC we look foward to the exciting opportunities ahead in the GT-R community but presently the mark up issue is a serious one that we cannot ignore. We reach out to you in hopes that you will continue to take the proper actions to resolve this situation
Respectfully,
NAGTROC
